It looks like LG has recently released a new washer in their line of steam cleaning washers. I wonder how this one will do, as it is quite a bit cheaper than the top of the line model. Based on this LG WM2501HWA review it looks like the steam cleaning front load washers are finally coming down in price as to potentially be a reasonable purchase for a family with a couple kids who play sports and therefore have a lot of particularly dirty laundry to do.

Don't get me wrong, the LG WM3001HWA looks like a fantastic washer, but man is it costly. A bit out of my price range to be sure.

These days it looks like the WM2016CW has been replaced with the slightly smaller, slightly cheaper WM2016CW. This site doesn't seem to have any information about them, but I found this LG WM1010CW review that seems to rate the unit very highly.

If, like Lawrence, you're in need of slightly more capacity maybe you could go for one of the larger washers in LG's line. For example, this LG WM2010HW review seems to indicate that it is a pretty good product, and is a bit larger than the 2016.

So far not so good. I loaded my queen comforter and started the cycle. The unit must have filled with at least one inch of water and the comforter finally got wet after about 18 minutes. I tried the add water feature which gave me an extra half inch. I called LG and spoke with one of the drones who told me I overloaded the machine. After hearing that load of bull I immediately asked to speak with a supervisor. I explained the situation and was told there might be a sensor problem. I'm getting a service call in 2 days. Hoping for the best but not holding my breath.

Is it really worth it to pay the extra for the steam cleaning? I don't find that I am currently allergic to my own clothes. Not only that, the steam washers are so much more expensive than the regular front loaders that I'd probably find it cheaper to just buy a new shirt or get it drycleaned if I had a stain.

This is a great washing machine. Quiet, so quiet. Easy to use. The clothes really do come out cleaner and dryer. I am impressed and my little kid thinks seeing the wash is neat. The loudest part of this washer is when it is filling with water, the rest of the cycle is really quiet. The SpinSense feature really does help balance small loads. This seemed to be about the low end of LG's line and I think it is a great value, especially with some of the sales and discounts out there.

I love mine. Period. I have a question, though. I have never tried to wash my king size comforter. Has anyone tried this feat and succeeded?

I never thought the day would come that I would enjoy doing the laundry. Everything on the unit is self-explanatory. All you have to basically do is power up, turn a know and start. My clothes come out cleaner and smelling fresh. I can't wait to see how it handles comforters and coats!

I was leery buying an LG washer after reading some of the reviews on the Internet, but this washer is great. It is very easy to use, quiet, uses very little water, and gets the clothes clean. Everything dries quicker and there is a lot less lint. My Electric Company and Water Department both offered $100 rebates on this washer, which brought the price down to the cost of a conventional washer. I would recommend this washer to anyone.

My old top loader was leaving rust spots on some clothes as the porcelain by the bleach cup had actually worn away and the metal underneath was rusting. I saw this as a potential problem with all other top loaders so decided to spend the extra money on the LG front loader. I could not be happier!!! Its quiet, uses little water and has the separate pull out unit on top where you put your detergent, bleach and softener so nothing gets directly on the clothes.

Its just me so I don't have tons of stains or super large loads but it did handle my queen size comforter with no problem. I have learned that after the last load of the day (or night) to wipe the glass on the door and also dry the rubber gasket so that the washer stays fresh. For the price I don't think this unit can be beat.
